Late summer is a great time for a senior session. Megan wanted a wide variety of looks for her shoot from classic, to urban to farm and nature. We started out with her most formal look in a classic urban location. Her black dress went great with the timeless brick of north side downtown Iowa City. Showing love for your favorite sports team or the college you plan to attend are great ideas for a senior session outfit. Megan got both! Her family LOVES the Iowa State Cyclones but she plans to attend the U of Iowa and become a Hawkeye next fall. The Hamburg in No. 2 is a quintessential Iowa City spot and happens to have a black and gold facade (and the BEST Pie Shakes EVER). Perfect for her college gear! Megan brought a funky leather mini skirt and I just had to find a fun bright colored urban location to match. We almost skipped this look but I’m so glad we didn’t because she chose one of them for the cover of her custom designed album!
Megan’s family owns Colony Pumpkin Patch in North Liberty, so we couldn’t leave out getting some prairie grass and country looks in her session. On the way to the farm we stopped at an open field of grasses with some great golden light. This dress was Megan’s favorite so we left it on for the barn, corn field and sunflower locations. Colony Pumpkin Patch opened for a sunflower season this year. They planted a wide variety of sunflowers and you could even take your family and cut your own bouquet. We took full advantage of the sunflower field for her last look bathed in sunset light. I love the contrast of her blue dress and sky with the yellow sunflowers.
I am in love with the images we got during Megan’s senior session. She is also a JE Influencer so we have gotten to shoot together a few times this year and it’s always a pleasure. If you are interested in becoming an Influencer check out more info HERE.
